| Alereon Expands into India; Opens R&D Facility in Pune for UWB Chipsets |

Alereon, Inc., the Certified Wireless USB technology leader for mobile ultrawideband (UWB) WiMedia, today announced the opening of Alereon Semiconductors Pvt. Ltd., the company’s new product oriented research and development (R&D) facility in Pune, India.
Alereon’s new state-of-the art operation expands Alereon’s team to accommodate the growth in interest for the company’s certified USB solutions. The focus of the R&D center will be to continue to develop the company’s patented UWB chipsets, such as the AL4000, for the next generation of products.
“The expansion of our development efforts to include a new facility in Pune will strengthen our role in bringing new UWB solutions to the market,” said Eric Broockman, CEO of Alereon. “We are currently the only UWB company offering embedded device-to-device connectivity that is Certified Wireless USB from the USB-IF, and we are committed to leveraging that competitive advantage by investing in continued development of new technology to remain a leader in our industry.”
